【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameanstomeasureavarietyoffire-test-responsecharacteristicsassociatedwithheatandsmokereleaseandresultingfromburningthematerialsinsulatingelectricaloropticalfibercables,whenmadeintocablesandinstalledonaverticalcabletray.Thespecimensareallowedtoburnfreelyunderwellventilatedconditionsafterignitionbymeansofapropanegasburner.Therateofheatreleaseoftenservesasanindicationoftheintensityofthefiregenerated.GeneralconsiderationsoftheimportanceofheatreleaseratearediscussedinAppendixX1andconsiderationsforheatreleasecalculationsareinAppendixX2.Otherfire-test-responsecharacteristicsthataremeasurablebythistestmethodareusefultomakedecisionsonfiresafety.Thetestmethodisalsousedformeasuringsmokeobscuration.Theapparatusdescribedhereisalsousefultomeasuregaseouscomponentsofsmoke;themostimportantgaseouscomponentsofsmokearethecarbonoxides,presentinallfires.Thecarbonoxidesaremajorindicatorsofthecompletenessofcombustionandareoftenusedaspartoffirehazardassessmentcalculationsandtoimprovetheaccuracyofheatreleasemeasurements.TestLimitations:Thefire-test-responsecharacteristicsmeasuredinthistestarearepresentationofthemannerinwhichthespecimenstestedbehaveundercertainspecificconditions.Donotassumetheyarerepresentativeofagenericfireperformanceofthematerialstestedwhenmadeintocablesoftheconstructionunderconsideration.Inparticular,itisunlikelythatthistestisanadequaterepresentationofthefirebehaviorofcablesinconfinedspaces,withoutabundantcirculationofair.Thisisanintermediate-scaletest,andthepredictabilityofitsresultstolargescalefireshasnotbeendetermined.Someinformationexiststosuggestvalidationwithregardtosomelarge-scalescenarios.1.1Thisisafire-test-responsestandard.1.2Thistestmethodprovidesameanstomeasuretheheatreleasedandsmokeobscurationbyburningtheelectricalinsulatingmaterialscontainedinelectricaloropticalfibercableswhenthecablespecimens,excludingaccessories,aresubjectedtoaspecifiedflamingignitionsourceandburnfreelyunderwellventilatedconditions.Flamepropagationcabledamage,bycharlength,andmasslossarealsomeasured.1.3Thistestmethodprovidestwodifferentprotocolsforexposingthematerials,whenmadeintocablespecimens,toanignitionsource(approximately20kW),fora20mintestduration.Useittodeterminetheheatrelease,smokerelease,flamepropagationandmasslosscharacteristicsofthematerialscontainedinsingleandmulticonductorelectricaloropticalfibercables.1.4Thistestmethoddoesnotprovideinformationonthefireperformanceofmaterialsinsulatingelectricaloropticalfibercablesinfireconditionsotherthantheonesspecificallyusedinthistestmethodnordoesitmeasurethecontributionofthematerialsinthosecablestoadevelopingfirecondition.1.5Datadescribingtheburningbehaviorfromignitiontotheendofthetestareobtained.1.6Thistestequipmentissuitableformeasuringtheconcentrationsofcertaintoxicgasspeciesinthecombustiongases(seeAppendixX4).1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard(see).Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.8Thisstandardmeasuresanddescribestheresponseofmaterials,pr......
